There are relatively few guests who, largely because of circumstance, come to the Mission in need only of temporary emergency assistance and then are right back on their feet, seldom to be heard from again. For these, the Missions rescue services are all that is needed.
However, the majority of Mission guests are the chronically destitute. There are those who, because of destructive decisions, behavior, addiction or illness, habitually rely on the Mission for sustenance. The Missions rehabilitation and reintegration programs are designed for these people.
It requires a changed perspective to change one's life. We believe that the only means to effectively and progressively accomplish change is through one's relationship with Jesus Christ. We introduce him by emulating his example of compassion and care in our rescue services. The rehabilitation and reintegration programs remain centered on the growth of this relationship with Bible study, counseling, prayer and worship, life skills classes, and more Bible study and counseling. Quite often, a former guest of the mission becomes motivated and finds full-time employment. Sometimes this is as a Mission staff member. Many of our own valued staff members are former guests.
