The Heart of the Mission

Hundreds of men, women and teens on Oahu served as volunteers at River of Life Mission. The total volunteer hours exceeded thirty thousand for the year. Volunteers play an important role in the Ministry of River of Life Mission.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these . . .”

Reasons for volunteering are varied.  Some volunteers are filling a requirement of their school or university. Some are part of a civic organization which enjoys helping the less fortunate. Others have been ordered by the court system to serve in the community service program.

However, most volunteers come simply to share Aloha. Some are motivated by a desire to help the homeless. They come with grateful hearts and an awareness that, "there but for the grace of God, go I."

Volunteers are a reflection of the Lord's provision for the poor and needy memebers of the community.
